The Sunderland Ladies currently sit at the top of the FA WPL Premier Division. Needless to say, the Ladies’ form has been much better than that of their male counterparts.
Sunderland’s Twitter posted a clip of Neve Herron scoring an absolute belter in their game against Stoke. Judging by the clip, Herron was just as shocked as everyone else when the ball hit the back of the net. This goal caused Sunderland fans to make an unusual suggestion. Get Herron to lace up for the men.

What do we think?
While it was almost certainly a joke, the plea for Herron to join the men’s team shows just how desperate fans are to see their team score goals. Sunderland face Gillingham in the FA Cup this weekend. Hopefully, for Grigg’s sake, he can pull out something magical to get the fans back on his side.
