Celtic fans are divided as to whether they should worry or not about the club’s injury problems in attack.
The club’s only current fit striker is Odsonne Edouard, with Leigh Griffiths missing from action for over a month and a new knee injury to Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
Manager Neil Lennon has said that he ‘possibly’ will dip into the transfer market in January to bolster his attack, but fans on Twitter are unsure about the club’s current predicament.
System we play I am not panicking if Edouard gets injured.
Ideally would love to have a striker such as Griff to slot in, but would be happy with Elyinoussi, Forrest, Sinclair, Johnston to do a turn until January— (@_ham86) October 30, 2019
Pretty woeful that we have one fully fit striker at the moment. Especially so when it looks like we’ll need to score more than that other lot this year. Hope LG gets up to speed quick

I wish we were much more transparent about injuries. I don’t know what’s going on half the time

Be good to have Leigh back for December, Eddy needs a rest, and Bayo just not cutting it

Need a penalty box striker for certain games as good a footballer as Eddie is the amount of times that ball comes into the box and he’s about 20 yards out is frustrating thankfully we have wingers and christie scoring for fun but it would be good to have another style up top.

What do we think?
With Bayo’s injury looking more serious than first thought and Leigh Griffiths still a week or two off from being fit, Celtic fans are right to be worried that the reliance is solely on topscorer Odsonne Edouard to provide the goods.
Indeed, the Hoops have not exactly been goal-shy this season, with the likes of Ryan Christie and James Forrest continuing to be reliable attacking threats (per TransferMarkt), however the 21-year-old has continued to be a constant thorn in a number of defences throughout the campaign as well – having bagged 11 in his 20 appearances across all competitions.
Once Griffiths is back it’ll ease the pressure on the Frenchman, but the attack is looking delicately thin right now.
