Spurs fans have in general not reacted well to the news that former Man United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be interested in the manager’s job at the North London club.

The Sun have reported that the Portuguese manager is interested in taking over a top Premier League club, and Spurs apparently already know Mourinho is an option they can turn to.

Following just under a year’s break from management, it seems as if Mourinho is ready to return to the Premier League, with struggling Spurs seemingly a possible option. Indeed, current Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure as Spurs sit 11th in the Premier League from their opening 10 games.

However, it seems that the majority of Spurs fans would be less than happy with Mourinho joining the club should Pochettino leave.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the news of Mourinho’s reported interest in the club can be seen in the tweets below.

These tweets clearly show that the majority of Spurs fans are less than keen on the idea of Mourinho at the club.

What do we think?

There can be no doubt that Mourinho wins trophies, with three Premier League titles to his name in 2004/05, 2005/06 and 2013/14. However, the Portuguese manager likes to spend a lot of money when in charge, which perhaps doesn’t suit Spurs’ more frugal approach in recent years. The 56-year-old is not short of controversy, and would certainly prove an interesting choice should he be approached by Spurs.

Of course, Pochettino could end up staying at the club for the next few years, but the club’s current situation has certainly raised a few problems at White Hart Lane.
