After Ben Thompson put the home team up within the first half-hour, Jed Wallace won the Lions a penalty in the second half to secure Millwall’s victory.
Fans were understandably thrilled with the goal, but it was the overall effort by Wallace that had them applauding. The English midfielder not only won the penalty in brilliant fashion but had the bottle from 12 yards to smash it past Stoke goalkeeper Adam Federici.
Was there going to be any other outcome?

That’s how you take a penalty

Another fan appreciates Wallace’s ability to stay up throughout the whole run, despite having the opportunity to win a foul in his own half. Instead, the player uses the momentum of the tackle to continue his run forward.
Another fan suggests that this is only the beginning for Wallace and that the player will soon be regarded as one of the best players in the Championship.
He could have legitimately gone down in the first second of that video. Stayed up and used his man to accelerate off. Brilliant.

What do we think?
Millwall fans will be hoping for a similar performance from Wallace as the team take on Reading next weekend. The Englishman also assisted Thompson’s goal before scoring his fourth goal of the season (WhoScored.com).
Indeed, the 25-year-old has been a key member of the south London outfit’s side this season, having made 12 appearances in the Championship so far and it would hardly be a surprise if he remained a vital component for Gary Rowett moving forward as well.
