With news of Xhedran Shaqiri’s latest injury potentially sidelining the Swiss international until late November, some fans have been questioning whether the player will feature again for the club at all this season.
Shaqiri has endured a terrible campaign thus far, blighted by injury concerns, as well as an inability to find game time, even when fit. And the beginning of the week, Liverpool released an injury update which stated that the Switzerland star could be out of action until after the November international break.
To some fans, the news came as little surprise, with many speculating that the midfielders days are numbered in a red shirt:

What we think
Regardless of what Klopp decides to do with Shaqiri, no one can deny that is has been a tough period for the player. A combination of injuries and bad luck has derailed what promised at one stage to be a wonderful synergy between player and club. However, since the summer, the 28-year-old has barely had a look in, appearing just four times, which has led to some questioning his long-term viability at the club.
There is every chance that Shaqiri can get his Liverpool career back on track, but it will first require him to get fully fit, something that continues to evade the midfielder of late.
