Sky Sports have revealed their Championship team of the month for October and there is not a single Charlton Athletic player in the eleven. Conor Gallagher and Josh Cullen have both impressed in recent weeks but the decision not to include in-form striker Macauley Bonne is the one that’s left fans bemused.
Cardiff can’t keep a clean sheet and they get a CB in the team?
Where’s Macauley Bonne? He’s scored 5 in 6 this month practically?

when a striker scores 5 in 6 games as per @MBonne9 you’d think he might be in with a shout. Similarly possibly the best midfielder outside the championship in Conor Gallagher. Very surprised not to see at least one of those players in that 11 #cafc

We’ll just assume that Macauley Bonne scoring 5 goals in 6 games doesn’t cut the mustard?!

What do we think?
Bonne has scored five goals in Charlton’s last six Championship fixtures. That’s three goals in the four games they’ve played in October. Therefore the Addicks’ faithful have a right to feel aggrieved at the fact their in-form frontman has been overlooked.
Having played in the National League last season, there would have been concerns regarding whether he would be able to make the step-up to Championship level quick enough but his manager Lee Bowyer has shown faith in him from the outset.
Speaking in June, Bowyer told cafc.co.uk “we need to bring people in that score goals and Macauley is definitely one of them. In the last two seasons, he’s scored over 20 goals. Okay, yeah, it’s been in a lower league, but you know he can finish. He works hard and his attitude is spot on”.
