Ryan Christie has the backing of his fans on Twitter after many of them praised the player’s improvement in a Celtic shirt throughout the last year.

The 24-year-old scored his side’s equaliser in Thursday’s 2-1 Europa League triumph over Lazio and has been in terrific form for the Bhoys this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

Fans were replying to a post from the club’s official Twitter account which echoed a callback from his goal in the 0-3 Betfred Cup semi-final victory last season against Hearts.

Christie recently quit Twitter over online abuse he received following a poor challenge which earned him a straight red against Livingston.

What do we think?

Apart from his red card, Christie has hit the headlines for the right reasons this season. His goals have been imperative to Celtic’s strong start to the season and his performance against Lazio left those watching stunned. He needs to maintain his form for the remainder of the season, but it’s great to see fans uniting behind the player’s improvement in the last 12 months. Indeed, he has become a star for the Hoops in recent campaigns, having bagged himself 25 goals in 71 appearances across all competitions.
