Many fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have predicted that John Ruddy will be set to make his third appearance of the season tonight.
With Wolves set to face Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side already staring at a packed fixture list, fans have tipped the 33-year-old stopper to make an appearance.
Many supporters have predicted a number of changes, but the majority of fans have touted Ruddy to be in Wolves’ number one spot against the Villans.
From the 100000 teams I’ve seen, no-one is picking MGW. But if he doesnt play in the league cup when does he?

With the amount of games we’ve had, I’d go:
Ruddy
Sanderson Vallejo Coady Kilman VinagreNeves MGW Perry
Cutrone Neto
(Based on us playing a 3-4-3 at Arsenal on Saturday). Can’t risk Saiss or Donk tomorrow for me.

The Englishman has been with the midlands club since 2017 after signing from Norwich City on a free transfer (as per BBC).
Having been a key figure in the side’s promotion to the Premier League in 2018, the stopper has found minutes hard to come by of late since the signing of Portuguese ‘keeper Rui Patricio last season.
Featuring in only a Europa League qualifier and Wolves’ victory over Reading in the last round of the Carabao Cup, fans are ready to see Ruddy back in action.
Really good point. Ruddy is well able to marshall his defence & put in big big displays last season v Liverpool & Utd.

go and win that trophy, but rest Raul, Doc, Mout (because played Thurs and Sun in those positions) I’d like to rest Adama because he’s so vital but dunno who’d play there. If Bennett fully fit, replace Coady.

What do we think?
As back up ‘keepers go – Ruddy is certainly a safe pair of hands.
Receiving a 7/10 in his last outing against Reading (via Express and Star), plus featuring in a penalty shootout in that tie, he should be able to fill the gloves of Patricio.
With Wolves’ much-talked-about hefty fixture list, also, the switch in stopper makes sense to keep Patricio fit for the upcoming Premier League and Europa League clashes.
