Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers were praising the performance of Max Kilman in their droves after Thursday night’s Europa League win.
The 22-year-old came as a surprise inclusion by Nuno Espirito Santo in the 2-1 win over Slovan Bratislava, but the youngster duly stepped up to the plate.
Kilman has been with Wolves since 2018 and has sporadically featured for the midlands club – only appearing in a Europa League qualifying tie and Wolves’ triumph over Reading in the Carabao Cup (via Transfermarkt).
Having turned in a sturdy performance, for which the youngster was awarded a 6/10 for by the Express & Star, fans of the Old Gold were excited about Kilman’s future.
I thought kilman did so well with the basics, if in doubt put it out looked strong

I think Saiss will drop back in to the back 3 for Sunday, but Killman looks big strong and composed on the ball took his chance well.

Agree. I thought Kilman held it together taking into account the amount of first team time he’s had. Nuno saw something in Adama & stuck with him. Totally different player now. Nuno will work with Cutrone.

The 22-year-old signed for Wolves last year from National League side Maidenhead United for an undisclosed fee (as per Wolves’ official club website).
Alongside Wolves and Maidenhead, Kilman has also heavily featured within the England futsal setup and has 25 international caps to his name within the sport (The Guardian).
Having had little chance to observe their rising youngster, with his previously mentioned limited first-team minutes, Wolves fans were looking to his future with optimism.
Maximilian Kilman brings a smouldering intensity to our defence…

Quick tweet to say Kilman looked very comfortable tonight, can’t remember him doing anything wrong.

Thought Kilman had a good game. I like this kid a lot. Won’t be long before he has the armband if he carries on progressing like this #wolves

What do we think?
It is without a doubt that to continue his progression, Kilman will need to get some more first-team minutes under his belt.
However, with praise coming the Englishman’s way from Conor Coady after the victory over Slovan and a 7/10 in his last performance before Thursday night (per Express & Star) – further opportunities may be just around the corner.
