Many West Ham United fans believe Arthur Masuaku and Felipe Anderson need tactical changes to increase their chances of winning matches.

The suggestion of moving left-back Masuaku to left-wing, and for the Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson to become a centre-attacking-midfielder was met with excitement by the fans.

This bold change may be unlikely but is a possible solution to the Sebastien Haller isolation issue as having a pacey and creative attacking-midfielder could definitely help bring the Frenchman into games.

In the Hammers’ last game against Sheffield United, Anderson managed a pass success rate of 83% – as per WhoScored.

Arthur Masuaku didn’t feature in the 1-1 draw on Saturday, as he was replaced by Aaron Cresswell.

What Do We Think?

West Ham needs to change something if they’re going to get back to winning ways and positional changes are probably the easiest way to do this.

The Hammers could potentially use a 3-5-2, with Masuaku playing as a wing-back.

This is how they could lineup:

GK: J. Roberto

LWB: A. Masuaku

CB’s: A. Ogbonna, I. Diop and F. Balbuena

RWB: R. Fredericks

CDM’s: D. Rice and M. Noble

CAM: F. Anderson

ST’s: S. Haller and A. Ajeti

This would give both wing-backs permission to go forward, but because they are natural defenders, the claret and blues would still be able to maintain the wings.

It could also solve the Haller issue, with him being surrounded by options either out wide or with his new strike partner.
