Lots of Spurs fans were left impressed by Tanguy Ndombele’s contribution in their 2-1 loss at Liverpool on Sunday, with many fans believing that the Frenchman is ready to start more Premier League games.

The 22-year-old, who signed from Lyon in the summer for a club-record fee, came off the bench at Anfield shortly after the hour mark but was unable to help Spurs take anything from the game. Although Mauricio Pochettino didn’t seem too impressed with the midfielder’s contribution, Spurs fans disagreed and feel that he is more than worthy of a start in next weekend’s fixture away at Everton.

Ndombele really impressed fans with his excellent display against Red Star Belgrade in their 5-0 Champions League win but was subsequently dropped for the game away at the Premier League leaders. With Spurs currently struggling in the league, it seems strange that the record signing has only started half of their league games so far considering he has starred in their Champions League fixtures, earning a 7.44 average rating.

A video posted by @LastWordOnSpurs on Twitter shows a compilation of the Frenchman’s best moments against Liverpool and has left Spurs fans believing more than ever that the former Lyon man is ready to make his mark in the Premier League.

Some of the best reactions from Spurs fans to Ndombele’s performance can be seen in the tweets below:

One fan even suggested that his passing is on par with Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who currently leads the way for assists in the Premier League with nine.

These tweets clearly show that Spurs fans believe Ndombele should be one of the first names on the teamsheet and are disappointed that Pochettino is currently opting to use the Frenchman as an option off the bench.

What do we think?

Despite only starting five Premier League games, Ndombele already has two goals and an assist, so he clearly adds a goal-scoring threat from midfield. Pochettino seems to favour Harry Winks, who has started nine out of their 10 fixtures so far, but the Englishman has a poor average rating of 6.63. Although Ndombele may still be adapting to the physical demands of the Premier League; with Darren Bent questioning the Frenchman’s fitness levels in September, it seems strange that Pochettino is yet to fully put his trust in the club-record signing.

Nevertheless, it seems as if most Spurs fans will be hoping to see him feature from the start in Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.
