Wolverhampton Wanderers fans reacted with delight following an injury update from the club on Willy Boly.

On Wednesday evening, the club provided an update on the 28-year-old Frenchman who had suffered a fractured left fibula in training (per Express and Star).

With the news that Boly’s surgery had gone well and he would soon be returning to the Old Gold’s training ground, Compton Park, fans were delighted with their man’s progress.

Prior to his injury, the Frenchman had featured in 16 Premier League and Europa League outings for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this term (per Transfermarkt).

Across those games, Boly found the net on one occasion and assisted a teammate in doing so on another, picking up a red card also in the club’s 3-2 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park (via Transfermarkt).

With the update also mentioning that it would be ‘a number of months‘ before Boly could return to first-team action – many supporters had well-wishes for their 28-year-old ace.

What do we think?

While the update of a successful operation is fantastic news for the Frenchman’s eventual return, the 28-year-old will be a big miss during the upcoming months (per Birmingham Mail).

Having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Aston Villa last night, Wolves are fighting on three fronts now – and Espirito Santo will want his star defender back as quickly as possible.
