Celtic must act swiftly in their bid to bring Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas to Celtic Park this summer after other clubs have shown an interest.

According to Bristol Live, there are a number of clubs who have tabled offers for the defender, including Hull City, Rangers, and some other unconfirmed Championship clubs.

Celtic have been previously linked with a move for the Czech Republic international by the Scottish Sun, but will now have to act fast in their hunt for the enforcer’s signature due to the attention he is receiving from a whole host of other clubs.

Kalas featured 41 times for Bristol City this season in all competitions, and is thought to be willing to leave his parent club Chelsea this summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old centre-back was in fantastic form for the Championship side and given that he is a no-nonsense defender who puts his defensive duties first, he is exactly what Celtic need.

Kalas is also comfortable on the ball as this is reflected in the fact his pass completion rate was 77.4% (Source: WhoScored) in his latest season.

Celtic could end up missing out on the in-demand 26-year old this summer, as a result of them not actually tabling a bid yet for the player, despite him being a target for Neil Lennon going into the transfer window.

The fact also remains that Kalas could be tempted by a move back to Bristol City next season, should they give him the opportunity, as he was said to have really enjoyed the time in which he spent with the club on loan next season, which would make things even more difficult for Celtic in their bid to bring the defender to Celtic Park.

The Scottish giants may be running out of time to make their move on the international defender, and it is looking increasingly likely now that their rivals Rangers might beat them to him.
