Man United have received a huge boost in their quest to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as the Crystal Palace defender has told his club he wants to complete a dream move to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Sun.

This doesn’t amount to a formal transfer request but he is said to be frustrated after Palace rejected a £35million bid for the right-back.

They are ready to play hardball and push for as much money as they can get, and they’re reported to be looking for as much as £60million.

Tottenham, Valencia and unnamed clubs in Italy are also interested which strengthens Palace’s hand.

OPINION

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to land Wan-Bissaka and he’s exactly the sort of player United should be targeting. £60million is a huge amount of money for a player who is yet to live up to his true potential, but his talent was there for all to see last season, and there’s every chance that he will be worth way more than that if he finds his feet at Old Trafford. The fee itself isn’t a problem but United won’t want to be held to ransom by Crystal Palace and the fact Wan-Bissaka wants to move makes a deal much more likely. We don’t think Palace will get the full £60million they want but the price for the 21-year-old could easily rise to £50million – yet more evidence that if you want quality young players in the Premier League, you need to pay for them. With Dan James signed, though, and Wan-Bissaka likely to join him, the future is looking a lot brighter for United.
