Aston Villa are in the hunt to sign Cordoba forward Andres Martin, according to Cordopolis.

The Spanish news outlet claims that Cordoba will consider selling Martin, 19, for anything over £2.7million this summer amid interest from Villa, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano and Eintracht Frankfurt.

It is understood that clubs will start bidding for the Spanish forward in the next few days and he is likely to leave the La Liga 2 club this summer.

Good move for Aston Villa?

If they can snap up Martin on a cheap deal then it would make a lot of sense for Villa to complete this signing because the teenager seems like a very hot prospect in Spanish football.

He cannot be bad if Barcelona and Real Madrid are sniffing around and Aston Villa’s sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch is bound to know the Spanish game well enough to know that Martin is a good young talent.

Martin, who turns 20 next month, scored seven goals and supplied four assists in 32 appearances last season for Spanish second-tier side Cordoba.

He can play up front and on either wing, so he is versatile and could do a job in Villa’s first team as a squad player.

It’s a low risk deal, and Villa might as well press on with a bid to sign the youngster up.

Likely to happen?

Villa are going to really struggle to sign Martin.

At his age, it’s unlikely that he would accept an offer to move abroad when there are so many top Spanish clubs, like Barca and Madrid, who are interested in him.

Villa are probably the least likely team to sign Martin this summer.
