Tottenham should offer Vincent Janssen to Fenerbahce in a player-plus-cash deal for midfield sensation Eljif Elmas.

According to a report by the Daily Mail last month, Spurs are interested in signing the 19-year-old ace, who has enjoyed a great season for Fenerbahce despite the Istanbul club’s struggles in the Turkish Super Lig.

Elmas has been a shining light in a dismal season for Fenerbahce, scoring four goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for the Turkish giants.

Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be eyeing up the North Macedonia international, who the Mail claims is “one of the brightest talents” in Europe.

Spurs may struggle to compete with the two Manchester clubs for the highly-rated central midfielder, but luckily it seems as though Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy may have an ace up their sleeve when it comes to trying to strike a deal.

Janssen spent the 2017/18 season on loan with Fenerbahce and although he struggled with injury, he did endear himself to the fans there as he scored five goals and supplied four assists in 18 total appearances.

One of those strikes came against Fenerbahce’s bitter rivals Besiktas in a 2-1 win and there is no doubt that the fans would be happy to see the Dutchman return to their side one day.

And it seems as though Spurs have already mooted the idea of Janssen returning to Turkey this summer with Sabah reporting that the Netherlands international has been offered to Fenerbahce.

It is understood that Fenerbahce will now consider whether they will sign Janssen, but Spurs should definitely try to spruce up that offer a bit to benefit both themselves and the Turkish club by offering some cash in exchange for Elmas.

If Pochettino and Levy pull that off then it would be great business for the London club because it will bring down the fee they’d have to pay for Elmas and also get rid of a fringe player like Janssen.
