Some Rangers fans all jumped to the same conclusion about Glenn Middleton’s latest tweet as he claimed there were big things coming up in Charlie Gilmour’s future. The Gers winger instantly messaged the 20-year-old upon Arsenal officially confirming that the young midfielder was set to be looking for a new club ahead of next season. While Middleton’s tweet didn’t mention Rangers, his Twitter replies were dominated by Gers supporters who thought he was suggesting that Gilmour was Ibrox-bound. One went as far as to welcome the 20-year-old central midfielder home, Gilmour is a known Rangers fan, while another responded by telling the club to get a deal done. It’s unclear what the future holds for Gilmour at this stage, but it does seem like some Rangers supporters would be open to welcoming him to Ibrox. However Steven Gerrard doesn’t really need another defensive-minded midfielder adding to his squad, so Gilmour to Rangers doesn’t sound likely for that reason.
