They say that actions speak louder than words but at Celtic Park a couple of words have sent a deafening message.

The Hoops are plotting for another summer of building, with more domestic domination on the cards alongside improvements on the European stage.

One man who may not be continuing his journey with the Bhoys, despite years of hard work and service to the cause in Glasgow, is defender Mikael Lustig, who is facing his contract expiring at the end of June.

Football Insider have reported that despite the board willing to let him leave the club this summer, manager Neil Lennon is keen to keep him as part of his squad for next season and wants to hand him a two-year deal.

Unfortunately for the Northern Irish boss, it appears as though things are not going too well behind the scenes.

As quoted by the Mirror (11/06. 13:16) the Swedish star was giving nothing away when asked if he was disappointed with how the top brass had been dealing with the situation, telling the media “no comment.”

However, if Lustig did not have a problem he would have surely come out and say such, insisting that he was just frustrated by the length of the process rather than the board’s behaviour.

It appears as though Lennon’s wishes are not being met by those above him and as a manager he must be tearing his hair out – after all, he is the one tasked with building the squad and shaping it to his mould.

If Lustig is unhappy, which it certainly appears he is, then it means neither player nor boss are getting their way – a worrying precedent moving forward.
