Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas has an offer on the table from Rangers, according to Bristol Live.

The regional newspaper claim that the 26-year-old centre-back has offers from Hull City, Rangers and other unconfirmed Championship clubs as well as his representatives being in talks with Bristol City over a permanent move to them.

Bristol Live report that Kalas is unlikely to decide his future until he returns to England from international duty with the Czech Republic as he wants to focus Friday’s game against Bulgaria as well as Monday’s game against Montenegro.

It is believed that Kalas is aware that he has no first-team future at Chelsea and that the Blues want to sell him for the maximum price possible with his current deal not set to expire until 2021.

Good move for Rangers?

Yes.

The centre-back, who currently earns £23,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), would walk into Steven Gerrard’s first-team on the back of his fantastic 2018/19 campaign.

Kalas is a strong and powerful centre-back who is tough in the tackle and he proved that while appearing 41 times for Bristol City last season while on loan from Chelsea.

Also the 26-year-old is no doubt eager to prove himself at a club on a more permanent basis after being loaned numerous times in recent years.

Likely to happen?

Kalas clearly believes he has a decision to make about his future, but won’t be rushed.

Rangers have made their intentions for him known by tabling an offer, and it’s just a case of waiting for him to decide.

While the Gers would still need to agree terms with Chelsea, it was previously reported by the Scottish Sun that the London club value Kalas as being worth £5million.

That fee shouldn’t be an issue for Rangers, as it’s not outrageous by any stretch of the imagination.
