It feels like you can’t move for Tottenham transfer rumours at the moment. Everywhere you turn, there seems to a barrage of speculation linking them to this one or that one, and the general consensus is that this is the window where, at long last, Daniel Levy will put his hand in his pocket and fork out on some new talent. Not before time either. Reaching the Champions League final, not to mention securing a place in the competition next year, has papered over a lot of cracks in this squad, and it has felt at times this season as if Mauricio Pochettino has been more of a firefighter than a football manager. Signings are needed, without a doubt, and the latest big name being linked with a move to north London is Julian Draxler. The German international hasn’t really lived up to his potential at current club PSG, and it is understood, as reported in Thursday’s print edition of L’Equipe, cited by Sports Witness, that Spurs have approached the French club to enquire about his potential availability. With PSG usually looking to offload a certain amount of deadwood to balance their humungous accounts, stranger things have happened, and it’s fair to say that supporters are buzzing over the prospect of snapping him up.
