OPINION
It is not hard to see why these Rangers fans have gone berserk on Twitter. They are reacting to a report by the Belfast Telegraph which claims that the Gers are in talks to sign Bolton striker Josh Magennis. It is understood that Rangers are in contact with the Northern Ireland international’s agent about a potential summer move, but based on his goalscoring record in his career, the Gers are better off ditching those talks straight away. Rangers fans are fuming over this link on Twitter because it’s pretty hard to believe. If the Light Blues do want to sign Magennis then what are they playing at? He scored three goals in 29 Championship starts for Bolton last season as they were relegated to England’s third tier. Magennis spent most of his youth career as a goalkeeper and played a lot at right-back for Aberdeen during his stint at Pittodrie. Since he’s become a striker, he hasn’t done anywhere near enough to prove he would be an upgrade on someone as bad as Umar Sadiq.
