West Ham are ‘very interested’ in Stuttgart centre-back Ozan Kabak, according to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons.

He made the claim on Tuesday afternoon and added that the 19-year-old has a release clause of £13.2m and that German clubs were also after the enforcer.

West Ham aren’t the only Premier League side interested though. Tottenham, Arsenal and Man United are also in the hunt for the in-demand youngster, according to the Daily Mail.

Good move for West Ham?

Kabak moved from Galatasaray to Stuttgart for £10million in January but the German side suffered relegation and Kabak could well be on the move thanks to his release clause. Tottenham were interested in the player before he moved to Stuttgart and have been credited with re-igniting this interest in the summer window. Arsenal and Man United show the calibre of clubs after a player who was described in the Daily Mail as a “stylish” centre-back, who is good on the ball and “robust in the tackle”. He was a standout player for Stuttgart in the second-half of the season and has just broken through into the Turkey side, although he’s only made the bench so far. He could be a really smart buy.

Likely to happen?

After Stuttgart were relegated he’s very likely to move somewhere this summer, but it sounds like West Ham will face a lot of competition for his signature. Tottenham can offer Champions League football and a world-class stadium and manager. West Ham are a side on the up though and also have a world-renowned coach in Manuel Pellegrini. It’s too early to say that it’s likely to happen but Aarons is a good source of information and if he says West Ham are “very interested” then there’s definitely something here.
