OPINION
It’s fair to say that Luke Shaw didn’t have the best of games for Manchester United against Huddersfield Town on Sunday. The Red Devils’ quest for Champions League football next season ended with a 1-1 draw with the already-relegated Terriers, meaning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will play in the Europa League. After Scott McTominay had given United a bright start with the opening goal after only eight minutes, Isaac Mbenza’s 60th-minute equaliser proved to be the nail in the coffin of the club’s top four-hopes – and Shaw, 23, was at fault. A quick lump up field from Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl saw Shaw pitted one-on-one with Mbenza, needing to get a touch on the ball to prevent it falling into the latter’s path. The Englishman didn’t manage it though, and Mbenza duly controlled the ball and slotted past David de Gea. It’s certainly not the only result that has led United to fall short of the top four this season, but it’s the one that confirmed their place in next season’s Europa League.
Here are some of the best tweets from Sunday’s game:
It's not even bravery to play dalot over young, it's common sense. Luke Shaw and rashford were absolutely pathetic and have been for a long time now. Bravery would have been to drop them. Shaw should have been dropped for just being unfit and looking like a Teletubby

Luke Shaw not great and at fault for the goal, the sad thing his he's been one of our better players this season. Which tells its own story. #FullTimeJay

Rashford & Shaw seem to have escaped criticism of late by some pundits & fans. Rashford is well off it nowhere a no.9 & Shaw has put weight on again & looks to have eased off on work rate. Ole may be at the wheel, but it’s the wheel of an old banger that’s failed it’s MOT. #mufc
