OPINION

It’s always sad to see a young prospect leave but it’s understandable why Burt is set to depart Rangers. The 20-year-old’s last appearance for the Gers’ senior side was in the 2016/17 season with the club opting to loan him out in recent campaigns. You feel that now at the age of 20-years-old, he needs to be at a club that are regularly playing him so he can fulfil his potential. While loan spells can help a player grow, it’s much better when they can settle in at one club. Given that Steven Gerrard hasn’t looked to use Burt and the fact he doesn’t shy away from throwing in young players, is very telling about how far the 20-year-old is away from the first-team set-up. However no doubt all Gers fans will be hoping that Burt is soon picked up by another club in order to really kick-start his professional career.
