OPINION
In the weeks after the Premier League had finished and in the build up to Tottenham’s first ever Champions League final – transfer rumours were increasing by the day with different players Mauricio Pochettino wanted to bring in. A strong rumour started on Thursday that the club had been reportedly quoted £60million for the signature of Leicester City’s James Maddison, which became stronger when on the same day it was revealed that another potential signing, Jack Grealish was reported by Sky Sports to be set to reject any offer to move away from Aston Villa in the summer. Spurs were said to have bid three times for Grealish last summer and were reportedly prepared to go in again this year, but Tottenham fans didn’t seem too disheartened with the news that the starlet would be staying put. Responding to the news on Twitter, a cloud of celebration surrounded the Spurs fans as they wanted the club to aim higher. One fan said: “He’s barely good enough for the Championship! This is good news for Spurs!”
