Some Tottenham fans are absolutely baffled as to how Son Heung-min has beaten Moussa Sissoko to the club’s Player of the Year prize, and they are right to a certain extent. While Son has been electric up front for the North Londoners this term, Sissoko has been Mr Consistent in midfield, stepping up in the place of the likes of Harry Winks, who suffered an injury, and Mousa Dembele, who left for China in January. Sissoko has been magnificent, being the powerhouse in midfield for Spurs and without him, the club wouldn’t be where they are now – in their first-ever Champions League final. But neither would the club be there without the contributions of Son, and that’s where these Spurs fans are wrong. Son scored three goals against Manchester City over both legs of the quarter-finals, while the South Korean international also scored in the last-16 first leg against Borussia Dortmund. He has been simply unstoppable in Europe this season and rightly deserves the Player of the Year award.

This is Futbol has picked out some of the best tweets from people who thought Sissoko should have picked up the prize.
