Mauricio Pochettino is winning the race for Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen, dubbed “the next Christian Eriksen” in his home country, according to the Sun.

Poch had him watched last season when he scored an incredible 26 goals for Danish side Nordsjaelland.

The report claims that Everton, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also interested in the 19-year-old after his breakthrough season.

However, Poch is favourite to land the young  sensation because of his reputation with young players.

Good move for Tottenham?

The next Christian Eriksen? Absolutely. He’s young and obviously very talented – he was involved in 32 goals last season, scoring 26 and adding six assists, and although the Danish top-flight is a fair few rungs below the Premier League, Olsen is exactly the sort of player Poch would relish working with. Tottenham need players who can step right into the first-team next season, but it’s imperative they pick up the players who could be the stars of tomorrow – especially if they can identify them young when they’re still cheap.

Likely to happen?

There are other clubs interested, big clubs, but Tottenham are said to be favourites and they’re one of the most high-profile teams around at the moment. The combination of Pochettino and the fact they’re playing in the Champions League final on Saturday make them a very attractive proposition. Christian Eriksen is Denmark’s current star and he’s done alright for himself in north London. The current Denmark Under-21 international is under contract until 2020 and this window would make sense if Nordsjaelland want to cash in on their talent.
