After a successful return to the Premier League, Wolves managed to secure Europa League football for next season and now their attention has turned to the transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo is in the market to improve his squad with a lot more potential fixtures on the horizon should they enter European football through their qualifiers.

The latest player to be linked with a move to Molineux, according to Football Insider, is Liverpool’s 22-year-old winger Harry Wilson – which could turn out to be a massive risk for Wolves.

This would be a big gamble for Santo who according to the reputable football outlet, would be required to pay £4million just to take the Welsh international on loan for the season.

Jurgen Klopp will reportedly decide whether or not another loan is a good move for the youngster or if he should try to offload him permanently for a asking fee of up to £25million.

The risk in this move comes from the lack of experience at the highest level for Wilson, who has only just completed his first full season with Derby under Frank Lampard.

Despite impressing in the Championship, scoring 18 goals in a run which took Derby to the play-off final – the Premier League is a total different prospect with Wolves already having attackers better than the youngster at their disposal.

Attacking options such as Diogo Jota and Raul Jiminez provide a constant stream of goals and with the blistering pace of Adama Traore, it would be hard to see a consistent run of starts for Wilson at the club.

Add to that the fact Wolves would be developing another side’s player rather than their own talents and it is a roll of the dice that need not be taken.

The only thing that would make this move acceptable would be if the loan fee was significantly lower but Nuno Espirito Santo must take a step back and not take a big gamble on Wilson with much better players available elsewhere.
