Tottenham hold a “definite interest” in Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

Spurs have been credited with making a £10 million bid for the 18-year-old by the Daily Mail, and while Nixon did not go as far as to confirm an approach, he did suggest that the fee could be closer to £15 million.

Writing on his personal Twitter, when asked about that price tag, he said: “There’s definite interest.

“Fee sounds about right.”

Good move for Tottenham?

Clarke has enjoyed a fantastic breakout season for Leeds. The young winger has made a real impression at Elland Road, at looks for all the world as if he could be a proper talent. Spurs love picking up a prodigy and moulding them into the finished article, and there is arguably no better manager to oversee a transition into the upper echelons of the English game than Mauricio Pochettino. £15 million might seem steep for a player with just the one second tier season under his belt, but in years to come, this could be seen as a major steal.

Likely to happen?

It feels as if the wheels are beginning to turn on this one, and that things are just starting to pick up pace. Rumours tend to burgeon at this time of year, but you can generally tell the ludicrous from the realistic, and this really could be a goer. Leeds would be gutted to lose such a promising produce of their academy, but £15 million could go a long way in their fight for promotion next term. You honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this one came off.
