Tottenham need to sign a few top-quality players in the summer to improve their chances of lifting the Premier League next season.

Spurs currently have a very talented squad capable of consistently finishing in the top-four but it’s clear there is a couple of areas of the team that could do with some star power arriving.

This has been the case in the last two transfer windows, but no one has arrived in order to improve Mauricio Pochettino’s options.

However you feel Spurs cannot wait around and go another window without signing who they need, if they want to push on and win trophies with their current bunch of players.

Yet given that they need players capable of improving an already impressive team; they’re surely going to be targeting players at already successful clubs or ones that have plenty of suitors as several of teams will be raiding the transfer market to try and improve.

While Spurs are not notorious big spenders, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy surely has an ace up his sleeve regarding possible high-profile summer signings based on Gary Lineker’s claim.

The Match of the Day host claimed that Spurs’ stadium will make a difference in luring players to the club as it will make them want to play for Spurs due to the venue being so special.

“Champions League is a big draw and you’ve got the stadium , that will make a difference,” said Lineker on The Premier League Show (BBC 2, Thursday May 2nd, 19:10).

“That will make players want to come, it’s special.”

Lineker is spot-on to claim this and it shows Levy may have a trick or two to call upon due to the allure of Spurs’ new stadium as a result.

Tottenham’s new ground shows the club is trying to move forward and progress; and any ambitious player worth their salt will want to be part of that even if a Premier League rival tries to offer them a little bit more money to see them go there instead.

Hopefully Levy makes the most of Spurs’ stadium being such a tempting prospect to play in as it will surely see top-quality players urging their agents to grease the wheels for a move to the London club.
