Everton target David Neres has been told he can leave Ajax in the summer by director of football Marc Overmars according to UOL.

The report claims that any deal is dependant on meeting the Dutch sides evaluation of no less than £43million (€50million).

Neres, 22, has been in great form this season, helping his side reach the Champions League semi-finals and has attracted interest from AC Milan and Paris St. Germain, as well as the Toffees.

The Ajax winger earned his first Brazilian cap in March and has been involved in 19 goals in 29 games for his club.

Good move for Everton?

Without a doubt, this would an excellent signing for the Toffees. They have endured an up and down season to say the least and their conversion of chances hasn’t been the best.

Richarlison is a fellow Brazilian who has excelled under Marco Silva and the only other available wingers at the club are Theo Walcott and Bernard. It would be a no brainer for Everton to put an offer in for Neres and build a team around him.

His pace and flair is something any team can dream of and he comes from a set up that promotes fast slick passing while going forward. The 22-year-old is better than what is already at the club and would make other teams around them take notice ahead of the new season.

Likely to happen?

With Ajax’s success in Europe this year, their young talents have been put into the spotlight and therefore in the shop window.

This means the biggest clubs have been attracted to players like Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt. David Neres is no different with Milan and PSG being interested and ready to challenge Everton.

There is no doubt that Everton won’t be afraid to spend the required amount if needed, the only doubt is whether they can make the possibility of joining them more glamorous then joining the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The main positive of joining Everton would be the chance of more game time over the amount of chances he would get at PSG.
