Irish starlet Ben Quinn has agreed a pre-contract to join Celtic in January, according to Echo.ie.

The Irish news outlet claims that Quinn, 15, will join the Hoops on a three-year-long professional deal at the start of 2020 after impressing the Scottish Premiership leaders when on trial with them.

On the Echo.ie website, Quinn is pictured with Celtic’s chief executive Peter Lawwell and holding a Hoops shirt with his name on the back.

It appears as though the deal is all but done for the St Patrick’s Athletic forward to join Celtic in the January transfer window.

Good move for Celtic?

It remains to be seen how well Quinn will do at Celtic, but he has impressed there on trial and has been playing well for the youth sides at St Patrick’s Athletic.

He has scored two goals in nine appearances for the Republic of Ireland Under-19s and it is understood that he is poised to make his debut for St Patricks’ Under-17s when they take on Derry City on Sunday.

Quinn seems like a decent young player and hopefully he can make it at Celtic.

They have good facilities and the resources to help young players like him reach their potential.

Likely to happen?

It seems as though this deal is basically done and all that Celtic need to wait for is the youngster to turn 16-years-old so that he can join them in the January window.

Between then and now, Quinn will be counting down the days and continuing to impress for St Pats’ youth sides as the image of him and Lawwell together proves that this transfer is all agreed.
