Everton manager Marco Silva is plotting to splash around £100million on signing three international talents this summer but could be forced to sell a number of his first teamers to fund the spending spree, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Portuguese boss has added Bournemouth and England striker Callum Wilson to his list of targets heading into the off-season, with French international Kurt Zouma and Portuguese ace Andre Gomes also wanted after their successful loan spells.

It is stated that Silva is keen to offload some of the deadwood at Goodison Park but that he might be forced to let Idrissa Gana Gueye depart to fund his spending, with a price of £45million said to have been slapped on the midfielder’s head.

Opinion

Silva is looking at spending £100million to bring in one player who was not at the club last season. That is hardly improvement. Yes, they might have lacked severely in the goal scoring department, with Cenk Tosun a huge waste of money and Dominic Calvert-Lewin talented but raw, but that is not the only thing stopping them from stepping their game up to the next level. A new fullback to help cover the likes of Seamus Coleman or Lucas Digne would not go amiss, some more power and presence in the middle of the park could help them transform their game while another winger to produce more consistent displays than the likes of Theo Walcott and Bernard is also somewhere he should be looking to strengthen. It is an awful lot of money to keep two of the same players on board in what has been a hit-and-miss campaign. Wilson would certainly be a good signing, but Gomes and Zouma should only be snapped up if the price is right.
