Mallik Wilks has enjoyed a great season on loan at Doncaster Rovers so it was no surprise to see Leeds United fans raving about their loaned-out striker on Friday night when he excelled against Charlton in the play-off semi-finals. Wilks supplied a super assist for John Marquis to score in extra-time for Doncaster and that prompted a glut of praise from Leeds fans on Twitter. Some Whites supporters want to see the 20-year-old play a role in their first team next season, and that might not be a bad shout. Across all competitions this term, Wilks has scored 16 goals and supplied 11 assists in 55 appearances for Doncaster. He has played on both wings and up front for the Keepmoat club and Leeds could have done with his versatility in the last few weeks of this campaign due to players lacking form and injuries. It all depends on Marcelo Bielsa though. He is not afraid to get rid of players he doesn’t like. However Wilks has shown a lot of progress at Doncaster and could be a good player for the Whites in the future.
