Like it or not, money is everything in football these days and unfortunately for the likes of Leeds United most of it is in the Premier League and Europe.

The Whites, along with the rest of the Championship, are desperately trying to bridge that void and make their way into the promised land and the riches it promises courtesy of television deals, sponsorship money and other financial bonuses.

We have seen the struggles of former top flight sides following relegation – Aston Villa almost falling foul of the tax man before a takeover sorted out their problems, while Bolton Wanderers’ fall into the mire is a sad state of affairs for everyone involved in English football.

With Leeds, they know that a lot of their income will be coming from buying and selling players in the transfer window, looking to make a profit to reinvest into their side – and that will definitely be the case again this summer.

The reputable Football Insider claim that Samu Saiz, a man who fell firmly out of favour among the Elland Road faithful, is set to be the subject of a £3million bid this summer courtesy of Valencia.

However, that is said to be only half of what the club are looking to sell him for and if there is a £6million price tag on his head, then Andrea Radrizzani has to stick to his guns.

It would be very tempting to sell the Spaniard for a seven figure fee, especially as he has no part to play at the club any more, but there is a reason they have that valuation on him.

Not only does his talent and contract status warrant it but Radrizzani is not flushed with cash and sales could make or break the club’s plans when it comes to their own recruitment.

Getting £3million compard to £6million could be a big difference. After all, Valencia seem to think you could get two Samu Saiz’s for the price of Leeds’ demands – and that has the potential to be a game changer.

Radrizzani has to avoid temptation and hold out for what he believes to be the right deal for Leeds United – their future could depend on it.
