Tottenham are interested in making a summer swoop for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, according to The Sun.

The England international has enjoyed another stellar season with the Foxes, and is reportedly set to be the subject of a four-away battle for his services in the transfer window.

It is understood that Spurs will face competition from Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea for the 6’3″ colossus [Transfermarkt].

It is also believed that Maguire will cost a fee in the region of £60 million.

Good move for Tottenham?

Absolutely, yes. Maguire has backed up his World Cup heroics last summer with another stellar campaign for Leicester, and you can’t help feeling that a move to a bigger club is on the horizon. Things don’t get much bigger than a Champions League final, and Spurs would surely suit his style of play down to the ground. Equal parts enforcer and progressive ball-player, Maguire would bring the quality and the steel needed to properly carry out Mauricio Pochettino’s brand of football. He would be a great coup.

Likely to happen?

There will be a lot of interest in Maguire this summer, and you worry about Spurs’ chances if it comes down to a straight up bidding war. £60 million is a lot of money, make no mistake, but could Daniel Levy be tempted to splash the cash for a player of Maguire’s talents? Potentially. It certainly wouldn’t be the most straight forward deal in the world, and it could end up costing more than Spurs would usually be willing to pay, but at the moment, they stand as good a chance as anybody.
