COMMENTARY
Some Rangers fans were amused as it was reported that Hibernian were pursuing the services of 22-year-old midfielder Greg Docherty. The Scottish Sun reported on Tuesday that Hibernian were set to be front of the queue to sign the Gers player if the club opted to sell him, as they had even made personal checks on him this season. The national newspaper reported that while Docherty has submitted some outstanding displays while on loan at Shrewsbury Town this season, Steven Gerrard signing Glen Kamara, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield means the player’s Ibrox future is in doubt. While normally a player who has only made a total of 11 Gers appearances would be someone supporters would be happy to let ago, that wasn’t the case with Docherty. Several Rangers fans revealed they wanted Docherty to be involved more next season with one even boldly claiming the in-form 22-year-old was too good for Hibs. Then the few supporters who were more open to the idea of Docherty leaving Ibrox on a permanent basis, didn’t seem keen on the idea of him joining Hibs either due to the rivalry between the two clubs.

Even if Rangers were prepared to sell- which I don’t think they will be- they’d be looking for their money back. Could Hibs spend circa £650k?

Not a chance Tam. Absolutely certain Gerrard will give him his chance next year. Coulibally will be away as will one or two others.
