Celtic fans destroy Izaguirre at HT v Hibs

COMMENTARY

After a disappointing first-half performance by Celtic against Hibernian on Sunday, it was no surprise that some supporters were not in the best mood. It may have been 0-0 at the break against Hibs, but Celtic were not their usual impressive selves. While there were several players worthy of being criticised, it was defender Emilio Izaguirre who was singled out by several supporters. One claimed having the left-back on the pitch was worse than being a man down because he put zero effort in when it came to his defensive duties. While another claimed it took them only two minutes to realise that Izaguirre was getting ripped apart by Hibs and needed to be subbed as a result. The 32-year-old hasn’t featured for Neil Lennon’s side as of late, with a knee injury causing him to miss several games, but it seems supporters aren’t keen for his position in the first-team to be a regular thing based on what they saw on Sunday.
