OPINION
Kieran Gibbs is a solid contender to win the player of the season award at West Brom and it is no surprise to see so many fans gushing over the former Arsenal left-back after an excellent outing in the 3-2 win against Hull on Friday. Gibbs, 29, scored his fourth goal of the season to put the Baggies ahead in the first-half, and even though it’s easy to praise a goalscorer, it has to be said that the full-back’s overall display was worth of a man of the match award. Gibbs has been fantastic since joining West Brom and you have to say that if he stays on for another season and continues to play well, he will go down as the club’s best left-back since Derek Statham. Gibbs is solid defensively, sublime in attack and whenever he doesn’t play, West Brom look a lot worse. It’s good to have him back after a spell on the sidelines, and that was so obvious in the win against Hull.

Will be quite sad when Gibbs leaves, unlike the rest of the relegated lot, even last year I thought he did alright when everyone else was poor. Great player. #wba
