Graham Potter has been linked with the manager’s job at Celtic Park and while he might not be the most thrilling of choice for the supporters, he would certainly get the best out of the Bhoys’ wide-players.

One player who would particularly benefit from Potter’s style of football if Maryan Shved, who is yet to be seen by the Hoops fanbase as he was signed by the club in January, only to be instantly sent back on loan to Ukrainian side Karpaty.

Shved, 21, has been in sensational form for Karpaty this season, scoring 15 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for the Premier Liga club.

Only Shakhtar Donetsk’s Junoir Moreas has more goals in the Ukrainian top-flight than Shved this term, and Celtic look as though they have played a blinder by agreeing to sign the youthful attack in January.

Shved can play on both wings and up front, he possesses great pace and has a real eye for goal, which is exactly the kind of player that Potter can get the best out of if Peter Lawwell hires the Englishman to be Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor at Parkhead.

The Scottish Sun has reported that Potter is a shock candidate for the job as Lawwell and Dermot Desmond cast a wide net in their search to replace Rodgers.

Potter has done a decent job at the Liberty Stadium in what has been his first season in management in British football, and one player that has has really got the most out of his rapid winger Daniel James, who is someone just like Shved.

James, who is also 21, has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Swansea this season, scoring five goals and supplying eight assists in the process.

While he is not as prolific in front of goal as Shved, James has run amok against some of the top clubs in the English Championship thanks to Potter’s guidance and insistence on getting his wide players to cut inside.

Shved would have a similar role at Parkhead if Potter was to get the job.

It remains to be seen if the FA Cup quarter-finalist would be hired by Celtic, but rest assured, if Lawwell does manage to raid the Welsh club for their manager, then Shved is one player who would benefit massively.
