Ashley Young is having shocker after shocker for Manchester United, so it is no shock to see some supporters tearing the 33-year-old to shreds for his first-half performance against Barcelona on Tuesday night. Lionel Messi opened the scoring for Barca after Young conceded possession in an dangerous position. Messi then went on to beat Fred before slotting the ball past David De Gea. You simply cannot give the ball to Messi as easily that Young did and for such an experienced player, he should know that all too well. Young’s performances have been awful lately and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to consider axing the former Watford and Aston Villa flyer. Unfortunately Man United’s full-back options are pretty terrible, which is why Solskjaer needs to splash the cash on improving that area of the squad in the summer transfer window. Young should not be in the Norwegian’s plans for next season.
