Rangers have made contact with goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann’s agent with a view to a summer move.

The Watford keeper, 24, is currently on loan with Kilmarnock where he’s kept nine clean sheets in 19 Premiership games.

He is under contract with the Premier League side until 2020 but he revealed to Austrian outlet AOLA1 that Rangers had made contact with his representatives.

“There has been contact with my English agent, but now I am concentrating solely on Kilmarnock,” Bachmann said.

“From June I am a Watford player again and I want to succeed in the Premier League. At the moment I am only concerned with achieving our goals with Kilmarnock.”

OPINION

Bachmann enraged the Rangers supporters in the 5-0 Scottish Cup defeat after he seemingly elbowed Glen Kamara. Kilmarnock managed to get the red card overturned, despite clear footage that an offence had been committed. However, the 24-year-old Austrian seems to have made more of a positive impact on Steven Gerrard. He kept another clean sheet on Saturday as Kilmarnock thrashed Hamilton 5-0 and it seems he’s done enough to attract attention from the Scottish giants. Bachmann joined Watford from Stoke in the summer of 2017, and while he was at Stoke he had loan spells out at Wrexham and Bury as well as north of the border with Ross County. Rangers’ current number one Allan McGregor has had a standout season but is 37-years-old rangers could be looking to get a younger keeper in. A move for Bachmann could see Foderingham, 28, move on. Foderingham was linked with Championship side Leeds before the winter transfer window.
