Tony Cascarino has said that Marko Arnautovic’s “attitude stinks” and that West Ham have a big decision to make in the summer.

Cascarino was talking in his regular Times column after the 2-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday evening.

Arnautovic, 29,  was subbed off in the 67th minute with his side 2-0 down and he allegedly reacted badly to being booed by the home fans.

“West Ham United have a decision to make this summer: should they sell or keep Marko Arnautovic?” Cascarino said.

“Their fans booed the forward when he was substituted in the defeat by Everton on Saturday. He then threw a water bottle in frustration and appeared to say, “Shut the f*** up.

“I don’t doubt his ability but his attitude stinks. He has not scored since being given a pay rise to stop him moving to China in January. He was a big problem in the 2-0 loss to Everton and is behaving as he did at the end of his time with Stoke City.”

OPINION

It’s a real shame what’s happened to Aranutovic at West Ham. He was on top form earlier in the season with seven goals in 15 games, but he hasn’t scored since the 2-2 draw with Brighton in early January. He was seemingly unsettled over the winter transfer window after a lucrative offer came in for him from a club thought to be Shanghai SIPG. The £35million offer would have netted him £200,000-a-week in wages but West Ham shut the move down and Arnautovic signed a new contract with the Hammers. However, something’s still not right at West Ham and they’ve now won just three of their past 10 games, losing five of them. The defeat at home to Everton on Saturday was particularly poor and the fans expressed their frustration towards their striker. If he said what Cascarino thinks he said then his stay at the London Stadium could be coming to an end. West Ham should still get a good fee for the 29-year-old in the summer, and it seems that he doesn’t mind where he goes if he’s getting paid good money.
