Timothy Weah heaped praise on Celtic teammate Jozo Simunovic for his performance in the 1-0 win against Kilmarnock.

The on-loan Paris St-Germain attacker took to his personal Instagram to deliver a three-word verdict on the centre-back’s display as he simply said “Man on Fire.”

Weah made the remark after Celtic’s official Instagram shared a picture of Simunovic celebrating his goal against Killie on Saturday.

OPINION

Simunovic stepped up and got Celtic the goal they were so desperately searching for on Saturday and deserve all the praise that comes his way. The 24-year-old isn’t known for being a goal threat, he had scored only once ahead of facing Killie, but he took his chance excellently on Saturday. Simunovic rose above Killie’s defenders to turn the ball home and it’s a sight Celtic fans could get used to seeing. Also while it’s nice to hear Weah raving about his Celtic teammate, it would be even better to see him feature. The attacker didn’t play on Saturday and hasn’t feature much since Neil Lennon replaced Brendan Rodgers in the hot seat. Given that Weah has the ability to get supporters out of their seats with his blistering pace and amazing skills, it would be nice to see him feature more than he currently is. Celtic pretty much have the title wrapped up, so what would be the harm in him featuring?
