OPINION
Scott Brown has become such an iconic figure for Celtic that it’s sometimes easy to forget that he hasn’t been at Parkhead forever. Way, way back in 2007 he was just a promising midfield battler plying his trade at Hibernian before the Hoops came swooping for him. He has barely looked back since, but he was given a decent reminder of his old side when he travelled to Edinburgh on Sunday. Celtic choked again in their bid to wrap up the title, securing their second successive 0-0 draw in the league, and from Brown’s point of view, it was an afternoon to forget. The veteran campaigner was given a tough ride by Hibs’ newest midfield general, Stephane Omeonga. The 23-year-old, currently on loan from Genoa, has won a whole legion of fans since moving to Scotland, but won’t have done much to endear himself to the Parkhead faithful with a cheeky tweet in the aftermath of Sunday’s game in which he can be seen smirking at Brown. He subsequently asked fans to caption the photograph, and it’s fair to say that certain Hoops supporters weren’t too pleased with the post. At the end of the day though, Omeonga earned the right to gloat a little. He was brilliant. But make no mistake, Brown will be plotting his revenge already.
This one is for my true hibbees supporters!
