Leeds United should revive their hunt to sign Wolves attacker Ivan Cavaleiro in the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph reported in January that Marcelo Bielsa wanted to sign the £7million ace on loan in the winter and even made an enquiry about the two-times Portugal international.

It seemed as though Nuno Espirito Santo did not want to part company with the former Benfica winger because he saw him having a role to play in the second-half of the season, but he has not featured a whole lot lately and could be someone who would be available in the summer.

Cavaleiro has been an unused substitute in Wolves’ last two Premier League fixtures and has only started one top-flight game since the January transfer window closed when Leeds tried to sign him.

Surely the 25-year-old is not happy with his lack of game-time at Molineux and that could really open the door for the Yorkshire giants to reignite their interest in him once the next transfer window opens.

It’s not like Leeds have an abundance of players in their attack.

Jack Harrison will more than likely return to Manchester City once his loan expires at the end of the season and Ezgjan Alioski has been utilised more as a left-back than a left-winger in the last few months.

Pablo Hernandez, as good as he has been in the Championship this term, is not getting any younger and there has been speculation about the future of Elland Road wonderkid Jack Clarke.

Cavaleiro could end up being an upgrade on all of the current winger options that Bielsa possesses in his squad, especially if Leeds fail to win promotion.

The winger was sensational for Wolves as they earned promotion last term, scoring nine goals and supplying 12 assists in 42 Championship outings.

If Leeds are promoted then he would surely show an improvement on his form at Molineux this term because he would a much more important role in the starting line-up at Elland Road.

Director of football Victor Orta would have the Leeds fanbase drooling if he is able to sign the talented winger from Wolves in the summer, regardless of what division the Yorkshire giants find themselves in.
