Rangers are in pursuit of Norwich City defender Timm Klose, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The reliable reporter shared via his personal Twitter account that the Gers are going in strong for the 6ft 5in centre-back (Source: Transfermarkt) but pointed out the Canaries are keen to keep him.

“NORWICH. Want to keep Timm Klose. But RANGERS in strong for the big Swiss centre half,” said Nixon via his personal Twitter account.

Klose may be available to be signed for free in the summer as his current deal is set to expire in June (Source: Transfermarkt) although he did reveal in January in an interview with Eastern Daily Press that there had been discussions about a new contract.

Good move for Rangers?

Yes the enforcer would be a force to be reckoned with at Ibrox.

The 30-year-old has been in sensational form for Norwich City this season across his 33 outings and has been a key part in them winning promotion to the Premier League.

It’s easy to imagine Klose slotting in nicely into the Gers defence and being able to rack up many clean sheets next season.

Also with him potentially being available for the fantastic price of nothing, it could end up being the bargain signing of the season when all is said and done.

Likely to happen?

Unfortunately not.

While the Gers may be willing to throw everything they have at getting Klose’s signature, the allure of playing Premier League football with Norwich will surely prove too tempting.

The 30-year-old enforcer has worked hard this season to get the Canaries into the promise land, so why would he not want to stick around in order to reap the benefits?

Klose seems happy at Norwich City and if they want to keep him, it may be only a matter of time before he signs a new deal.
