Graham Roberts was blown away by Danny Rose’s “superb” performance for Tottenham as they beat Brighton 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Christian Eriksen’s late winner earned Spurs all three points as they took a big stride towards sealing a spot in the Champions League for next season.

Roberts was impressed by the Denmark international’s goal, but he was also over the moon with the display of left-back Rose, who spent part of the game against Brighton as a central midfielder.

“Job done last night fantastic goal by Christian Eriksen. Let’s do the business on Saturday now. Danny Rose was superb again. Nearly there,” he said via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday morning.

OPINION

Rose has been fantastic for Tottenham in his recent performances and he has even started to play a solid role in the centre of the midfield despite being a natural left-back. The former Leeds player did start his career off as a midfielder but has been a well established left-back over the last few years in North London. Hopefully Spurs can hang onto him in the summer transfer window because it was not long ago when the England international was making noises about potentially leaving the club as he questionned the club’s transfer policy and wage structure. Since then Rose has quietly gotten on with his job. He will enter the last two years of his contract once this season ends so it will be interesting to see whether or not Daniel Levy offers him a new deal at some point, otherwise he may be offloaded in the summer of 2020.
