Leeds United attacker Izzy Brown has sent his best wishes to Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi after he suffered a season-ending injury on Monday night.

Hudson-Odoi, 18, suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Burnley, meaning it would be very rare for him to be able to play in the remaining games of the London club’s campaign.

Brown, 22, is on loan at Elland Road from Chelsea and he took to his personal Instagram account on Tuesday to send a message to the England international after the extent of his injury was revealed.

“Come back stronger brother, you got this,” said Brown via his Instagram story.

OPINION

It will be interesting to see what Chelsea do with Brown once he returns to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season because his loan spell at Leeds has very much been a waste of time. The rarely-seen 22-year-old has made just one appearance in Marcelo Bielsa’s senior squad. He has had multiple injury issues but he has been fit for the last few weeks now and cannot seem to earn anything more than Under-23s football at the West Yorkshire club. It is clear that Brown is not good enough for Chelsea because he does not appear to be good enough for Leeds. Chelsea are banned from signing players in the summer so they could give youngsters like Brown a chance to impress. It will be very tough for him to get anywhere near the senior squad at Stamford Bridge though because there are more talented players in his position now. Hudson-Odoi is one of them and hopefully he can make a full recovery from his ankle injury in time for the start of next season.
