Tottenham have ruled four players out of their Premier league clash against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

The official fitness update confirmed that Serge Aurier was continuing rehab after his hamstring injury, as was Eric Dier for his hip problem.

It also confirmed that Erik Lamela picked up a hamstring injury on Saturday, the day before the Liverpool game.

Striker Fernando Llorente came on as a late sub in the 2-1 defeat on Sunday, with Mauricio Pochettino looking for an equaliser, but he has suffered a concussion and will not be available for tomorrow’s game.

The fitness update was delivered on the Tottenham Twitter page on Tuesday lunchtime.

OPINION

The Crystal Palace game on Wednesday has taken on extra significance after Tottenham’s defeat against Liverpool. A win for Man United tonight would see them move ahead of Spurs into the top four and leave a win an absolute must for Pochettino’s men. Plus, the match is the grand opening of the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, and we’re expecting an exciting game. Tottenham will want to come out of the gates fast and show that the new stadium isn’t going to disrupt their season run-in. With Aurier out we expect Kieran Trippier to continue on the right, despite a poor game against Liverpool. Tottenham are really suffering in midfield at the moment and Dier’s continued absence, now with injury after being ill, is something Pochettino could do without. Good news comes in the form of Harry Winks who is now back in training, but Wednesday might come too soon for him to start. Llorente’s concussion is bad news for him and could even see a return to the bench for Vincent Janssen. He hasn’t been seen in the first-team all season.
